Who on earth is voting for Hillary Clinton?

In case you couldn't tell from my blog title, I'm a libertarian, which basically means that I want to be left the hell alone in most things.

I have friends from all walks of life, from ultra-conservative to ultra-liberal and what I've noticed is each side blames the other for basically the same things, despite differences in philosophies.

Liberals believe they know what is best for us when it comes to many social issues:

-Smoking is bad, not wearing a seat belt is bad, etc etc...

-High taxes are good because we can take care of more people with the money

-The only free speech allowed on a college campus is one that agrees with liberal viewpoints. Sure the college conservatives can speak but they are labeled racist for disagreeing with Affirmative Action and Homophobic for not wanting gay marriage.

-The Second Amendment is applied to not to individuals but to groups forming state run militias.

and on and on and on...

The Republicans are no better, only on other issues:

-Prayer in schools should be mandatory, or at least allowed.

-Abortion should be completely illegal.

-Evolution is wicked and should be taught as nothing more than speculation if taught at all.

Of course there are exceptions in both of these groups. No one should completely drink the party cool aid.

I'm a libertarian so you can pretty much figure out where I stand on this...

I could care less what people want to do in their personal lives. If they are gay, or god fearing, or think evolution is a farce, thats fine by me. Just leave me the hell alone while you're doing whatever it is you're doing.

Why does the government think they know whats best for me? And why do they think that what is best for me is the same for everyone else, whether its if I wear a motorcycle helmet, own a gun or disagree with abortion?

I'm not above asking for help from people when I'm stuck on a problem, but both sides take it far beyond a helping hand.

We have this philosophy and mindset in this country that we are owed something. That we should feel no discomfort ever in our lives, in any situation. We care more about stupid reality shows and 2 second sound bites from candidates than we do about actual issues.

So what, do you ask, bridges these two sides in commonality? Hillary Clinton. Really...

Not one person I know, educated or uneducated, liberal or conservative (ha!) can even stand her, let alone vote for her.

So who is voting for this woman and how in the hell is she winning primaries?

I'm not busting out the tin foil hats and claiming the fix is in... I just want to know who these people are!

And do they really think she is the agent of change she claims to be. In fact, does anyone truly believe ANY of these candidates will really do anything radical and groundbreaking when in office?

The only who is even coming close to a complete philosophical change in this race is Ron Paul and he can't get elected to save his life, because he comes off as the crazy uncle no family wants to talk about.

He may have solid ideas but he wont get them across and when he's on the libertarian ticket for president (wait for it), I'll probably vote for him anyway... not like its going to do any good.
